Step 2 - Add HubSpot integration
HubSpot is available as a built-in app in Lightyear, which means you can start using it right away without any additional setup.
Navigate to integrations
In your Lightyear dashboard, navigate to the Integrations tab:

Understanding built-in apps
Lightyear comes with several pre-configured integrations for popular services like HubSpot, Salesforce, Slack, and more. These built-in apps:
- Are ready to use immediately
- Handle OAuth configuration automatically
- Include pre-built actions and data models
- Are maintained and updated by Lightyear
Since HubSpot is a built-in app, you'll see it listed in your integrations. The integration is already configured with:
- OAuth2 authentication setup
- API endpoints and rate limiting
- Common actions like creating and updating records
Custom apps vs built-in apps
While we're using the built-in HubSpot app for this tutorial, in production you might want to create a custom app for:
- White-labeling the OAuth experience
- Custom scopes or permissions
- Special API configurations
For now, the built-in app is perfect for getting started quickly.
What's next?
Now that we've identified the HubSpot integration, let's create a managed user to represent your customer.
